MAKE ROOM AT THE TABLE

Pick the meals you’ll remember, then leave some space.

Table-service restaurants give you a scheduled place to sit and enjoy a meal. Quick-service locations offer a more flexible stop, and mobile ordering can help at participating locations. Character meals combine dining with character appearances, but their menus, pricing and character lineup need to be checked for the specific booking.

Choose one or two meals that genuinely matter before filling every day with reservations. Traveling to a restaurant, checking in and eating can take a substantial part of the afternoon. A reservation should fit the park you are visiting and the pace you want, not become another reason to hurry.

Look at the actual menu with your family. A beautiful restaurant is less useful if nobody wants the food, and a quick meal everyone enjoys can be exactly right on a busy day. For children, plan around familiar meal times rather than assuming a late dinner will be easy after a long park afternoon.

A DATE WORTH SAVING

Book the important meals first.

Dining generally opens 60 days ahead. Guests with a valid Disney Resort hotel reservation can book for their stay, up to 10 nights, beginning 60 days before arrival. Other guests generally book 60 days before each dining date. New availability usually opens around 6 a.m. Eastern; particular experiences can differ.

Include everyone, even infants, in the party size. Dining inside a theme park requires the appropriate admission and any required park reservation; the meal does not supply entry. Read each confirmation’s cancellation, no-show and payment terms, since not every restaurant or special experience uses the same rules.

If a favorite is unavailable, choose an acceptable alternative and check again when convenient. Do not build the entire trip around the assumption that a sold-out reservation will appear. Nearby hotels and less conventional meal times may offer appealing alternatives when they fit the rest of your day.

LUNCH CAN BE SIMPLE

Check the menu before everyone gets hungry.

In My Disney Experience, choose a participating restaurant, an available arrival window and your food, then pay. When you are there during the window, tap “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” and wait for the ready notification before collecting it. Mobile order does not reserve a table or guarantee immediate pickup.

Look ahead while you still have flexibility. The next available window may not be the one you want, particularly during busy meal periods. Agree on everyone’s order, check the restaurant location and avoid starting preparation while you are still on the other side of the park.

Keep a backup meal in mind for days when a queue runs long or a child needs a break. A flexible quick-service plan can work especially well between two more structured parts of the day.

FEEL COMFORTABLE ASKING

Tell the team what your family needs.

Review Disney’s special dietary guidance and communicate allergies or other needs through the appropriate reservation and restaurant channels. Do not rely on an old menu or this guide to decide whether a particular meal is safe. Speak directly with trained restaurant staff about ingredients and preparation.

If you are considering a dining plan, compare its included entitlements and participating locations with the meals you would actually choose. Separate the appeal of prepaying from the question of savings. Tips, extras and special experiences may still cost more, depending on the current plan and venue.

Pack a little patience along with the reservation confirmation. Seating can take time after check-in, and a relaxed meal often works best when there is not an attraction reservation scheduled immediately afterward.
